History

Bryan Research has DEEP roots in manufacturing.

Our founder began his career in quality in 1989, becoming qualified as a QMS auditor for BS 5750 (the precursor to ISO 9000) and working on government funded contracts to implement QMS in manufacturers in the UK in a wide spectrum of industries from printing to industrial solvent recovery.

Switching gears in 1993, he took on quality responsibilities for the rapidly developing and expanding Burton Corporation in Burlington VT USA and implemented QMS in the VT manufacturing facility, and subsequently in the broader supply chains for hard and soft goods in the USA, Europe and Asia.

In 1998 he took on a similar role at Vans, working on the snowboard technical line ensuring quality for boots and step in binding systems.

Returning to VT in 2000, he became a Professional Business Advisor for the VT section of the Manufacturing extension Partnership from NIST. In this role he assisted over 100 companies in industries from wood products to semiconductor fabrication with redesign and implementation of their operations according to LEAN / TPS principles.

Transitioning to healthcare in 2007, he began the journey to translate the principles, philosophies and methods of the manufacturing experience of the Toyota Production System to the Healthcare environment.
